Which One Suits You?

  • 5C key operated or hand-wheel chuck: Best for smaller parts (≤25mm OD), manual lathes, light setups.
  • 16C hand-wheel chuck: Ideal for larger parts (up to 41mm), offering sturdier build and higher throughput.
  • Dead length quick-change (COL5C): Perfect for milling centres or multi-op setups needing precision and fast changeover.

Key operated 5C Collet Chucks
5C key-operated collet chucks offer a precise and versatile manual workholding solution commonly used on lathes, rotary tables, and milling machines. Designed to securely hold round workpieces with minimal runout, these chucks accept standard 5C collets and are tightened using a chuck key. Unlike drawtube or handwheel-operated versions, the key-operated design delivers a more compact setup and increased rigidity—making it ideal for both manual and CNC applications.

  • Quick Setup – Easier and faster to load/unload than a drawtube system.
  • Compact Design – No rear drawbar needed—saves space on manual or CNC lathes.
  • No Machine Modifications – Installs directly to the spindle face with a mounting plate.
  • High Accuracy – Maintains concentricity for precision turning or grinding.
  • Versatile – Works well for short-run jobs, small parts, or where repeatability is key.
  • Options include various spindle mounts (camlock D type, A type, L type, flat back, or taper).
